They have extensive experience in backcountry skiing, avalanche forecasting and safety, first aid and mountain rescue, and group making assessments and decisions that take into account the safety and comfort of individual skiers and of the group.

Please follow your mountain guide's instructions. All skiers wear avalanche transceivers and
are trained in their use. Guest Safety is of primary importance.
Kevin has been working in the ski guiding and snow avalanche industry since 1981. Mountains, snow, and skiing have been a life long passion for Kevin. He decided that in order to spend as much time as possible pursuing that passion, he needed a profession that would put him there. He cut his teeth learning the trade as a ski patroller and a recreational ski mountaineer. He was fortunate to work with the ministry of highways avalanche forecast and control team, where he fine tuned his skills in snow craft. Kevin brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our ski guiding and snow safety team. One of our guests is quoted as saying, "He has stood on snow so long, it seems that he can walk on water."

Jeff has been working in the ski industry for over ten years, two years on the patrol at Big White, and over eight years guiding in Meadow Creek. He joined the team at Highland Powder Skiing in the second year of operation, and has been with us ever since. He can always seems to find the perfect stash of untracked powder for those lucky two who dare to carry down the guest packs at the back of the group. Jeff is looking forward to welcoming you to our winter playground in the Selkirks, and although he doesn’t walk on water, he is a lot of fun to ski with.

Sharon has been guiding and working in the mountains for both summer and winter seasons for many years. In the winter seasons she has run a ski school for two major resorts and taught skiing, telemark, and snowboarding. For over 9 years Sharon has worked in the Heli and snowcat industry as an assistant guide and this is her 4th season with Highland Powder Skiing. Sharon grew up in Nelson B.C and had the opportunity at an early age to develop a love for the mountains. Backcountry skiing is just one of her many outdoor passions. She now lives on Kootenay Lake and looks forward to guiding you in amazingly breathtaking adventures high in the mountains.
