Skiing Ability
Proficiency in deep snow is not necessary for this holiday. Our
guides are ready to teach novice powder skiers and to help experienced
skiers who want to improve their technique.
First time skiers should be strong intermediates: able to
ski the black diamond runs at major lift serviced areas in
control, but not necessarily with "finesse".

Vertical
An average group of skiers will ski between 10,000 and 18,000
vertical feet in a day.
We ski at a comfortable pace for the group and if you are tired
you are more than welcome to ride in the cat and rest for a while.
We also have the option of having an extra guide if you need some
extra instruction.

Snow and Weather Conditions
Snow conditions may vary. While excellent snow and powder predominate, skiers must be willing to accept the challenge of occasionally difficult snow conditions such as crust wind slabbed snow, or heavy snow. On the days when weather work's against us we recognize how privileged we are to be in the mountains where conditions can change overnight.

Clothing and Equipment
We recommend a one-piece powder suit with room for layers: warm
gloves or mittens, and a warm hat. Don't forget goggles and sunglasses.
We strongly suggest that you take your ski boots on the plane
as carry-on luggage.
We have specialized powder skis available for rent for $15/day.
These skis make skiing powder snow and especially adverse snow
conditions easier and more enjoyable. Skis must be equipped with
ski brakes, safety straps are not allowed.
We suggest that you bring a fanny pack or small pack to carry
extra gloves, sweater, etc. This pack can remain in the Snowcat
for your convenience during the day.
